Christner Contracting Leads Construction for IHCC’s New Performing Arts Center

Christner Contracting served as the Prime Contractor on this project, working under McGough Construction as the Construction Manager. We handled the General Construction package, which put us at the center of nearly every part of the build.

Indian Hills Community College launched this project to modernize the Performing & Visual Arts facilities on their Ottumwa Main Campus. The original spaces dated back to 1961 and were no longer meeting the needs of students.

The updated space includes:

  • A fully soundproofed choir and band classroom

  • Soundproof acting and film classrooms

  • A new piano lab and lesson space

  • Individual and small group practice rooms

  • Dressing rooms, showers, and updated restrooms for performers

  • Improved public restrooms, campus arrival experience, and student services areas

Christner Contracting was proud to help bring this much-needed upgrade to life, supporting the next generation of performers and artists at IHCC.
