Design-Build for a Local Nonprofit

The Centerville Community Betterment group first reached out to Christner Contracting to evaluate a former grocery store building near the town square. Word had spread from past projects we’d completed in the area, and our name came recommended by a few satisfied clients.

After a full assessment, we found the building to be in solid shape, especially for its age, and free of major issues.

Once they closed on the building, the Betterment group came back to us with a vision: a new home for their centralized offices and group treatment services. They had been operating from several small locations around town, which made it hard to stay connected as a team and limited the level of care they could provide.

We listened to their goals, offered early budget estimates, and helped them see that their vision was within reach. We then brought in Luke Leyden of Encite Architecture to lead the design.

The Christner Contracting team worked closely with Luke and the Betterment leadership, holding regular meetings to align the plan with both their needs and their budget. Thanks to strong relationships with trusted subcontractors, we delivered a proposal that came in under budget without cutting corners.

Over the next nine months, we brought that vision to life, ending in a public celebration and ribbon-cutting to mark a fresh start in their new space.
