Creating a Better Learning Space for the Next Generation

Christner Contracting served as the Prime Contractor on this major education project, working under Story Construction as the Construction Manager. We held the General Construction package, which meant we were involved in nearly every aspect of the build.

Indian Hills Community College designed this project to replace a group of temporary classroom buildings that had been in use since 1971. The goal was to create a modern facility that could better serve students across a wide range of programs.

The new 58,500-square-foot building includes:

  • Expanded labs for Industrial Maintenance, Construction Technology, and Agricultural Sciences

  • Brand-new lab spaces for Welding and Career & Technical Education

  • Updated classrooms and labs for Nursing, Science, and General Education

  • Improved food service, library space, and academic support areas

The new facility helps IHCC deliver hands-on learning with more space, better technology, and updated infrastructure. Christner Contracting was proud to help bring it to life as part of the broader improvements on the Centerville campus.
